Pilgrimage Overview

Join us on a Pilgrimage to France & Spain with Fr. Bill McCann!

DAY 1
Depart USA

Today we board our flights to Paris with meals and beverages served aloft. Anticipate your arrival tomorrow morning.

DAY 2
Arrive Paris

Upon arrival in the City of Light, we are greeted by our tour representative and transfer to our hotel. After check-in, enjoy a light walking orientation or rest after the long flight. This evening, we’ll gather for our welcome dinner and orientation.

DAY 3
Lisieux

Today we journey to Lisieux, the home of St. Thérèse, the “Little Flower.” Visit the Basilica of St. Thérèse, the Carmelite Convent where she lived, and her family home. Reflect on her powerful message of simplicity and love. We return to Paris this evening for dinner and rest.

DAY 4
Dijon

We begin our day in Paris with a visit to the magnificent Norte Dame Cathedral, one of the finest examples of French Gothic architecture. After our visit, we continue to Dijon, France, where St. Elizabeth of the Trinity died and was canonized by Pope Francis on October 16, 2016. We will celebrate Mass at St. Michael’s Church, home to the relics of St. Elizabeth of the Trinity. While the current church dates back to the 16th century, the first mention of it traces to the year 889. We will also visit the Carmelite Convent of Flavignerot, where we will see the cell in which St. Elizabeth lived, the chapel where she prayed, and a museum preserving her personal belongings.

DAY 5
Ars-sur-Formans

Today we drive south to the humble village of Ars-sur-Formans, home to the beloved St. John Vianney, patron of parish priests. Upon arrival, we’ll visit his incorrupt body, chapel, and presbytery where he lived and ministered.

DAY 6
Toulouse

This morning we celebrate Mass at the Shrine of St. John Vianney before departing for Toulouse, one of France’s historic and cultural hubs. Enjoy scenic views along the way and a relaxing evening upon arrival.

DAY 7
Lourdes

Our pilgrimage continues in Lourdes, one of the world’s most cherished Marian shrines. Visit the Grotto of Massabielle where Our Lady appeared to St. Bernadette, the Basilica, and the healing Baths. Participate in the evening Rosary and Candlelight Procession.

DAY 8
Montserrat

We cross into Spain and ascend to the mountaintop sanctuary of Montserrat, where pilgrims venerate the Black Madonna. This is also the place where St. Ignatius of Loyola laid down his sword and began his spiritual conversion.

DAY 9
Manresa

Today we visit nearby Manresa, where St. Ignatius spent months in deep prayer and wrote his Spiritual Exercises. Explore the cave where he stayed, now a revered chapel, and reflect on the Ignatian call to spiritual renewal. We then transfer to our hotel in Barcelona for dinner and overnight.

DAY 10
Barcelona

This morning we visit La Sagrada Familia where we will take a guided tour and celebrate Mass before we have the rest of the day to explore Barcelona on our own.

DAY 11
Zaragoza

We journey to Zaragoza to visit the grand Basilica of Our Lady of the Pillar, a site visited by many saints including St. Teresa and St. Ignatius. After lunch and prayer time, we continue on to Spain’s capital, Madrid.

DAY 12
Avila

Today’s Day trip brings us to the medieval walled city of Avila, home of the great mystic and reformer St. Teresa. Visit her convent, childhood home, and the Basilica of St. Teresa. Reflect on her wisdom and devotion as we return to Madrid.

DAY 13
Madrid

This morning we visit the Real Basilica de San Isidro, resting place of the city’s beloved patron saint and his holy wife. Enjoy the rest of the afternoon at leisure before we come together for our final group dinner to celebrate our journey of faith.

DAY 14
Return USA

With hearts full of grace and minds enriched by the lives of the saints, we return home today with memories and spiritual insights to last a lifetime.
