DAY 1
Depart USA
Today we board our flight to Mexico City. Upon arrival we transfer to Puebla for overnight
DAY 2
Arrive Puebla
Explore Puebla, the “City of the Angels,” known for its colonial charm and culinary heritage. Begin with a tour of the historic center, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, featuring the Puebla Cathedral and the ornate Chapel of the Rosary in the Church of Santo Domingo, where you’ll attend Mass. After free time for lunch we will visit the Church of Santa Maria Tonantzintla, celebrated for its indigenous Baroque design, before concluding the day at Our Lady of Remedies Church in Cholula, perched atop the ancient Tlachihualtepetl pyramid
DAY 3
Ocotlan
This morning we depart for Mexico City with a stop at San Miguel del Milagro with its interesting history and engulfed in miraculous happenings. Continuing towards Mexico City we stop at the nearby city of Ocotlan for Mass at the Shrine of Our Lady of Ocotlan, the site where Our Lady burnt her image in an oak tree. After free time for lunch, we then visit the beautiful Church of San Francisco. We arrive in Mexico City for dinner and overnight.
DAY 4
Mexico City
This morning after breakfast we transfer to the pyramids of Teotihuacan to see the Pyramids of the Sun, the Moon, Quetzal Butterfly Temple, etc. We have free time for lunch before we transfer to the Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe. We have Mass at the Shrine and enjoy a full tour of the grounds. We return to the hotel in time for dinner.
DAY 5
Coyoacan & Xochimilco
After breakfast, we transfer to Coyoacan and visit the Church of St. John the Baptist. We take a tour of the Coyoacan neighborhood. Afterwards, we transfer to take a delightful gondola ride along the flower laden canals of Xochimilco – the floating gardens of Mexico. A box lunch will be provided on the gondola. We have Mass at San Bernadino. We then return to our hotel for dinner and overnight.
DAY 6
Downtown & Shrine of Our Lady of Gaudalupe
This morning we transfer to Our Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe for a Private Mass and time for prayers. We then transfer to the downtown area for lunch at a local restaurant. After free time for lunch, we take a tour of the area before returning to our hotel for dinner and overnight.
DAY 7
Queretaro
This morning we depart to the City of Queretaro. En Route out of the city, Mass will be celebrated at the Sanctuary/ Basilica of Our Lady of the Remedies, with its large and interesting collection of “Milagros” and “retablos” from people grateful for favors received from Our Lady of the Remedies. After free time for lunch, continue to Queretaro (about 2 hours) for a city tour of the historic center, seat of Mexico’s independence from Spain. We transfer to our hotel for dinner and overnight.
DAY 8
Guanajuato
This morning we depart to the City of Guanajuato. En Route we visit San Miguel de Allende to explore the incredible colonial city and visit La Parroquia de San Francisco Church where we will have Mass. Free time for lunch. We then transfer to Guanajuato for dinner and overnight.
DAY 9
Guanajuato
Today after breakfast, we immediately transfer to Cristo Rey, located on a nearly 3,000-foot mountain called Cerro del Cubilete, this huge statue of Jesus is one of the largest in the world. Afterwards, we take a city tour of the most popular sights in Guanajuato – the University, Teatro Juarez, the local market, the underground streets, and in the afternoon the quaintness of the colonial city. Free time for lunch. In the afternoon we have Mass at a local church.
DAY 10
Guadalajara
Today we depart for Guadalajara, passing by San Juan de los Lagos, famous for its fascinating shrine. Here we will have Mass and free time for lunch before continuing to Tlaquepaque. Here we take a short tour and have free time for shopping for local arts and crafts for which this town is famous. Continue to Guadalajara for dinner and overnight.
DAY 11
Guadalajara
Today we disembark our cruise ship, and we will be visiting and exploring the city of Athens (Acts 17: 16-34). Acropolis with Parthenon the greatest monument of antiquity, dedicated to the goddess Athena, from here one can see Areopagus (Areios Pagos = Hill of Ares) visited by Pope John Paul ll same hill where St. Paul gave his famous sermon of “Unknown God”. Our pilgrimage will continue with a drive to Corinth first across the Corinthian Canal, started by roman emperor Nero and then to one of the oldest towns of Greece, where St. Paul came after he left Athens and after a stop at the ancient Corinth (18: 1-18; Cori.) we again meet with St. Paul, here he remained for one and a half-year. We will be visiting a marketplace where the Apostle preached to the Corinthians, the Temple of Apollo, and the Corinth Museum.
DAY 12
Return USA
Today we board our return flights home with memories and keepsakes that will last a lifetime.
