DAY 5
Santiago De Compostela
This morning we begin our visit of Santiago de Compostela, one of the most famous shrines in the world, where the tomb of St. James the Apostle was discovered. St. James was given the task of spreading Christianity in the distant Hispanic lands and is known as the first pilgrim. Since the discovery of the tomb, numerous miracles have taken place here and every year thousands of worshippers gather on July 25 to celebrate the Feast Day. We begin with a visit to the Cathedral of St. James, one of the finest examples of architecture in all of Europe. As pilgrims, we have the opportunity to climb the stairs behind the high altar to visit the crypt where the relics of St. James are preserved, touch the central pillar (Portico de La Gloria), view the ‘botafumeiro’ and admire the wealth of medieval art inside the Cathedral, before visiting the cloister museum. Enjoy a stroll on own, through the beautiful streets of Santiago de Compostela, full of historical buildings.
DAY 6
Oviedo
This morning, depart Santiago de Compostela and journey to Oviedo, the capital of the Asturias region. Here, visit the Cathedral of Oviedo, which houses the Tombs of Asturian Kings and the Camara Santa, a restored 9th-century chapel featuring expressive statues of Christ and the Apostles. This day we start with mass at the Grotto of Massabielle, where our Lady appeared to Bernadette in 1858. Later we take our official group photo in front of the Basilica, followed by our guided tour of Lourdes. The sanctuary of the Basilica of St. Pius X, the world’s largest underground church. The Basilica, The Baths, where thousands of miraculous cures have taken place is the most respected shrine and sanctuary in France. In the evening, we join the candlelight processional.

We have today free to enjoy the Baths and for prayers and meditation on our own.
DAY 10
Montserrat
This morning, we depart the serene town of Lourdes, bidding farewell to its sacred grottoes and peaceful ambiance as we journey toward Montserrat. The scenic drive takes us through the rolling hills and lush landscapes of southern France and northeastern Spain, offering a glimpse of charming villages and breathtaking countryside. As we approach Montserrat in the afternoon, the unique jagged peaks of the mountain range come into view, a striking contrast to the softer scenery of the morning’s drive. Upon arrival we check into our hotel for dinner and overnight.
DAY 11
Montserrat
After breakfast, we tour Montserrat, home to the Benedictine monastery dramatically set in the Montserrat mountain range. Pilgrims from around the world flock to this monastery to view its magnificent architecture in such a striking setting. This shrine has attracted pilgrims for over 700 years, much as it did Ignatius of Loyola in March of 1522. We to visit the Black Madonna of Montserrat, probably Spain’s most fervent devotion to the Blessed Mother. We then continue to Barcelona, where we transfer to Las Ramblas where we have free time to explore the colorful markets.
DAY 12
Barcelona
This morning we head to the awe-inspiring Basilica de la Sagrada Familia, a masterpiece of celebrated Art Nouveau architect Antoni Gaudí. This unfinished church, with its intricate facades and otherworldly interiors, reflects Gaudí’s deep faith and visionary creativity. We enjoy a full guided tour of the Basilica and celebrate Mass in this sacred space. Following the Basilica, we make our way to Park Güell, another of Gaudí’s iconic creations. This vibrant park, adorned with colorful mosaics, whimsical sculptures, and breathtaking views of Barcelona, offers a delightful blend of art and nature. We take time to explore its unique features and marvel at Gaudí’s imaginative designs. In the evening, we continue to our hotel for dinner and rest after a day filled with spiritual and artistic wonders.
