Join Fr. Roger on a Pilgrimage to Mexico City & Guadalajara!

DAY 1
Depart USA

Today we board our flight to Mexico City. Upon arrival we transfer to Puebla for overnight.

DAY 2
Puebla

Today we have Mass at Chapel of the Rosary in the Church of St. Domingo. We visit the Cathedral and other points of interest in Puebla with its beautiful colonial facades and interesting building. We have lunch at a local restaurant.

DAY 3
Ocotlan

This morning we depart for Mexico City with a stop at the nearby city of Ocotlan for Mass at the Shrine of Our Lady of Ocotlan, the site where Our Lady burnt her image in an oak tree. We then visit the beautiful Church of San Francisco. Continuing towards Puebla we will stop at San Miguel del Milagro with its interesting history and engulfed in miraculous happenings. We arrive in Mexico City for dinner and overnight.

DAY 4
Mexico City

This morning, we have Mass at the Shrine, now under the tranquility of a “normal” day and without the crowds, to enjoy a full tour of the grounds. Lunch at a local convent before we continue to the pyramids of Teotihuacan to see the Pyramids of the Sun, the Moon, Quetzal Butterfly Temple, etc.  Back to the hotel in time for leisure dinner on your own.

DAY 5
Xochimilco

Today we visit the Church of St. John the Baptist. Mass is held at Madre Conchita. Afterwards, a delightful gondola ride along the flower laden canals of Xochimilco – the floating gardens of Mexico. A box lunch will be provided on board the bus enroute to Xochimilco. We then return to our hotel for dinner and overnight.

DAY 6
Coyoacan

Today we will visit Coyoacan to visit the Frida Kahlo Museum. Free time in the Plaza. After lunch, we will head to the museum of anthropology. In the evening, we attend Mass at La Parroquia Francesa, followed by Eucharistic Adoration. Dinner afterwards before we return to our hotel for overnight.

DAY 7
Queretaro

This morning we depart to the City of Queretaro. En Route out of the city, Mass will be celebrated at the Sanctuary/ Basilica of Our Lady of the Remedies, with its large and interesting collection of “Milagros” and “retablos” from people grateful for favors received from Our Lady of the Remedies. Continue to Queretaro (about 2 hours) for a city tour of the historic center, seat of Mexico’s independence from Spain. We transfer to our hotel for dinner and overnight.

DAY 8
Guanajuato

This morning we depart to the City of Guanajuato. En Route we visit San Miguel de Allende to explore the incredible colonial city and visit La Parroquia de San Francisco Church. We then transfer to Guanajuato for dinner and overnight.

DAY 9
Guanajuato

Today we take a city tour of the most popular sights in Guanajuato – the University, Teatro Juarez, the local market, the underground streets, and in the afternoon the quaintness of the colonial city. Mass will be in Belen and lunch will be at a local restaurant.

DAY 10
Guadalajara

Today we depart for Guadalajara, passing by San Juan de los Lagos, famous for its fascinating shrine before continuing to Tlaquepaque for lunch at a local restaurant and time for shopping for local arts and crafts for which this town is famous. Continue to Guadalajara for dinner and overnight.

DAY 11
Guadalajara

This morning, we walk to Mass at the Cathedral, continuing along the Plaza Taxation touristic area of Guadalajara. Other visits include the Libertad Market and Teatro Degollado. We have lunch on our own before transferring to Zapopan to visit the Virgin of Zapopan figure, the focus of a popular pilgrimage. The Virgin inhabits a marble altar in the twin-towered Basilica of Zapopan, with its ornate exterior. We then return to the hotel for our farewell dinner and overnight.

DAY 12
Return Home

Today we board our return flights home with memories and keepsakes that will last a lifetime.
