Depart USA

Today we board our flights to Paris, with meals and beverages served aloft.

Arrive Paris

Upon arrival in Paris, we are met by our HLTC representative and have lunch. We continue to the Notre Dame Cathedral for Mass, with time to explore on our own. This evening, we depart for our hotel for dinner and evening fellowship. Overnight Paris (D)

After a restful night and breakfast this morning, we visit La Sainte Chapelle (The Holy Chapel). We have lunch nearby and continue to Sacre Coeur Basilica (Basilica of the Sacred Heart) for our own private Mass. The Basilica was dedicated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus, when the first pilgrimage was organized to Paray-le-Monial in Burgundy. It was there that revelations encouraging prayer to Christ’s sacred heart had been reported in the 17th century. We return to our hotel for an evening at leisure and our evening fellowship. Overnight Paris (B, D)

Paris / Chartres

This morning we have an early breakfast and have Mass at the Shrine of the Miraculous Medal, the site of three apparitions of the Virgin Mary in 1830. We have some time to explore the Shrine on our own before continuing to the Shrine of Saint Vincent de Paul. The church dedicated to Saint Vincent de Paul is in the chapel of the Vincentian Fathers. Upon entering the Church, we’ll see the glass reliquary containing his body high above the main altar. We have lunch on our own on our way to Chartres where we will have a guided tour of the Cathedral of Chartres. The Chartres Cathedral is one of the greatest achievements in the history of architecture; it is almost perfectly preserved in its original design and details. The Cathedral has housed the tunic of the Blessed Virgin Mary, the Sancta Camisia, since 876. The relic was said to have been given to the cathedral by Charlemagne, who received it as a gift during a trip to Jerusalem. We return to Paris for dinner and our evening fellowship. Overnight Paris (B, D)

Lisieux / Bayeux

After an early breakfast this morning we drive to Lisieux for Mass at the Basilica of St. Therese. Pope Pius XI had canonized Thérèse on 17th May 1925 and considered her to be the jewel of his Pontificate; and he strongly desired the construction of a sanctuary at Lisieux. Afterwards, we have time to explore the Basilica and the family home before lunch on our own. We return to our motor-coach and continue to Mont Saint Michel where we will have a guided tour. Mont Saint Michel is a rocky island near the north coast of France. The mount is best known for the medieval Benedictine Abbey and steepled church that occupies most of the island. We check into our hotel in Bayeux for dinner and overnight. Overnight Bayeux (B, D)

Bayeux / Nantes

We begin our day with a visit to the American Cemetery, where we will have Mass. We continue to the Normandy D-Day beach monument. Next, we visit Point Du Hoc, the location of the site where a group of American soldiers undertook the task of climbing massive cliffs with little equipment during the American invasion of Normandy in 1944. We continue to the Brittany American Cemetery, stopping for lunch in Saint-Lo. We check into our hotel in Nantes for dinner and overnight. Overnight Nantes (B, D)

Nantes / Lourdes

We begin our morning with Mass at the Basilica of St. Louis de Montforte, the burial place of two well-known Roman Catholic figures Saint Louis de Montfort and Blessed Marie Louise Trichet. We continue to Lourdes, stopping for lunch on the way. Upon arrival in Lourdes, we check into our hotel and have the opportunity to attend the Candlelight Procession. Overnight Lourdes (B, D)

This morning we have Mass at the Grotto of Massabielle. The Grotto of Massabielle is the site of St. Bernadette’s visions of the Virgin Mary in 1858. The Blessed Virgin is said to have pointed out a previously undiscovered spring in the grotto and instructed Bernadette to drink from it. We enjoy the remainder of the day with free time visiting Lourdes. Overnight Lourdes (B, D)

Today is dedicated to guided religious activities in Lourdes. We have an evening at leisure with dinner and overnight at our hotel in Lourdes. Overnight Lourdes (B, D)

DAY 10
Lourdes / Avignon

After breakfast, we attend Mass at the Grotto of Massabielle before our drive to Avignon, stopping in Toulouse for lunch. If available, we visit the Palace of the Pope, a vast castle of significant historic, religious and architectural significance. Avignon became the home of the popes in 1309, who were fleeing the violent chaos of Rome. The Palais was built between 1335 and 1364. It is one of the largest and most important medieval Gothic buildings in Europe. We check into our hotel for dinner and overnight. Overnight Avignon (B, D)

DAY 11
Avignon / Lyon

We have an early breakfast this morning and continue to Lyon. On our way, we visit La Salette where we will have a tour of the Sanctuaire de Notre Dame la Salette, the site of reported apparitions of the Virgin Mary in 1846. We have Mass at the Basilica before departing for Lyon for dinner and overnight. Overnight Lyon (B, D)

DAY 12
Lyon / Nevers

After a restful night, we have breakfast and depart our hotel for Ars, where we will have Mass at the Basilica and visit the Holy Doors. We have time for lunch on our own before departing for Paray le Monial, where we have free time to visit before continuing to Nevers for dinner and overnight. Overnight Nevers (B, D)

DAY 13
Nevers / Paris

We start our day with Mass in the Convent before departing towards Vezelay. The town of Vezelay and the famous 11th century Romanesque Basilica of St Magdalene are designated UNESCO World Heritage sites. In the Basilica are relics of Mary Magdalene. Upon arrival, we have lunch and visit the Basilica. We continue to Paris for a farewell dinner and overnight. Overnight Paris (B, D)

DAY 14

Today we board our flights home, carrying with us memories and keepsakes that will last a lifetime.
