Today we are up early for the General Audience with Pope Francis at St. Peter’s Square! Continue to the Vatican Museums for a visit. Here we will see art masterpieces of the famous Michelangelo, Bernini – from antiquity to Renaissance. Visit the Sistine Chapel with the magnificent fresco of The Last Judgment and many more halls and rooms filled with Christian art, history and inheritance of all civilization. Today is also our visit to the heart of Vatican State, St. Peter’s Basilica, and underground burial stones with the tomb of St. Peter, and Square dedicated to same Saint. This morning we depart for Lanciano, where we will visit the Sanctuary of the Eucharistic Miracle. The miracle of Lanciano is the first, and many believe the greatest, Eucharistic Miracle of the Catholic Church. Continue to Rome for dinner and overnight accommodation. Overnight Rome (B, D)
We start our morning with a guided tour of two of the major churches in Rome Including the 1600-year-old St. Mary Major, and St. John Lateran, the Cathedral of Rome. We then visit the Coliseum. The afternoon is at leisure. We end our night with a walking tour of Rome, featuring a stroll to the Trevi Fountain, the Pantheon, a Christian church since the 7th century, and Piazza Navona. This morning we depart to Split or Dubrovnik Airport and we are greeted by our HLTC representative. Transfer to Medjugorje and immediately check into our hotel. This evening we join the local people of Medjugorje as they pray the Rosary and take part in the evening Croatian Mass celebrated by the local people for all the pilgrims in Medjugorje. After breakfast, we enjoy a full guided tour of Medjugorje. Join the public Mass in English at St. James Church. Medjugorje is a unique place in the modern world. It is believed that Our Lady appeared in front of a group of children in 1981. Thanks to Our Lady’s apparitions this simple village parish has become a place of gathering for a multitude of pilgrims from the whole world and one of the biggest prayer centers in the world. Innumerable witnesses say that, in this place, they have found faith and peace. We take a leisurely climb up the Hill of Apparitions, the sight of the first Apparition. Visit several of Old Town’s most iconic sites, which gained even greater fame after serving as locations for the fictional capital King’s Landing in “Game of Thrones.” Later, we will enjoy free time within Old Towne, where you may explore other sites that you may recognize from the series. For instance, the Jesuit Staircase was where Cersei Lannister began her Walk of Shame in Season Five, and many of the shows market scenes were filmed along St. Dominic Street.
