Depart USA

Overnight flight from the airport, with meals served on board of the plane.

Croatia, Split - Medjugorje

Upon arrival to Split (or Dubrovnik) International Airport, your group will meet with your guide and driver and your pilgrimage journey to Medjugorje begins. After short border formalities between the Republic of Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina, the group will arrive in Medjugorje. Check in to your hotel for dinner and overnight stay.

DAY 3 & 4

After breakfast on your first morning in Medjugorje, your local English-speaking guide will begin introductions starting with a walk from your hotel to the Church of St. James. You will arrive just before your first English language mass at 10 00 AM. During these three days you will join thousands of pilgrims from all over the world celebrating daily mass at St. James Church, visiting Bijakovi Village, Apparition Hill (also known as Podbro, where Our Lady first appeared) and gathering at 6pm each evening together to pray the rosary. All three Mysteries will be prayed during the evening program. During your stay, you will be able to attend the Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament and the Veneration of the Cross in the parish church. After the Holy Mass, there is the Blessing of the Sick and blessing of any religious items or souvenirs that you have with you. You will have a chance to climb the “Cross Mountain” or Krizevac as local people know it. We will also visit the “Blue Cross,” another location of the Apparition of Our Lady! Every pilgrim in Medjugorje will have time for private devotions, shopping, or simply enjoying your own “freedom of prayer.” We will enjoy dinner each night at our hotel.

Medjugorge, Split, Zagreb, Croatia

Today we will leave Medjugorje and head to Zagreb, the capital of the Republic of Croatia. On the way to Zagreb, your group will stop for a visit to the city of Split which is over 1700 years old. This fascinating city has been called an ‘open-air museum with people living in it.’ We will learn the history of the famous palace of the Roman Emperor Diocletian and the Christian martyrs during his era of ruling this part of the Roman Empire. The same evening, we will have dinner and overnight stay in Zagreb.

Today we start with the city tour of Zagreb; we will start from the Old Town, from Kaptol and St. Stephen’s Cathedral – dedicated to the Assumption of Our Lady. Morning walking tour will also take us to Gric, second part of Old Zagreb, to the chapel of ‘Majka Bozja od Kamenitih Vrata,’ (Our Lady of Stone Gate Chapel.) St. Mark’s square with the Church of St. Mark, then down to the St. Cyril and St. Methodius church. We will then reach the Jelacic Square – Zagreb’s main square with the equestrian statue of Ban Jelacic. There will be a short free time for shopping and lunch before we continue our journey to Budapest, where we will be staying for two night! We will check into our hotel for dinner and overnight.

This morning we will visit Hero’s Square, one of the largest and most inspiring spaces in Budapest, with its towering stone column and statue of the Archangel Gabriel. Then, celebrate Mass in St. Stephen’s Cathedral. Next, discover the magic of Fishermen’s Bastion, with seven stone towers overlooking the famous river, and the distinctive Castle District with St. Mathias Church.

Bratislava, Vienna

This morning we will depart Budapest and drive to Bratislava, the capitol of Slovenia. Here we will visit the picturesque Old Town, Michael’s Gate, Bratislave Castle, and St. Martin’s Cathedral. Continue to Vienna for dinner and overnight.

After a leisurely morning, we will head towards the city center of Vienna. We will take a city tour of the capital and the once mighty Habsburg Monarchy. Vienna is known for its music and architecture which is a testimony of the significance that Vienna had in Europe for centuries. We will see the Kalskirche, one of the most beautiful churches of the high baroque period, the Hofburg Palace, as well as St. Stephen’s Cathedral. Next, we will visit the Schonbrunn Royal Palace and the Belvedere Palace which is known for its beautiful garden and an impressive panoramic view of Vienna and the steeples of St. Stephen’s Cathedral. The rest of the day you will have free time for lunch, or maybe just a slice of Sacher chocolate cake and shopping! We will return to our hotel for dinner and our second overnight stay in Vienna.

DAY 10
Vienna, Salzburg

After breakfast, we will leave for Salzburg, a town with true Austrian charm, where we will meet with and learn more of musical genius Mozart. We’ll see his birthplace, walk down the Schwarzstrasse pass by the castles Mirabell, Hellbrunn, and Frohnburg. You will have the chance to enjoy the memories of the famous movie Sound of Music with Julie Andrews. Here you will have some free time in the afternoon before we head to our hotel for dinner and an overnight stay in the Salzburg area.

DAY 11
Salzburg, Bavaria Excursion

After breakfast, we will leave our hotel and head to Bavaria, Germany and to the Benedictine Abbey of Ettal where we will get a behind the scenes look of the beer brewery to the production of the famous liquor which we will taste during the visit! Tonight, we are at the hotel in Garmisch, for a Bavarian dinner and overnight stay.

DAY 12

This morning we head to Oberammergau, after the short ride we will arrive in the village and prepare for the incredible performance put on solely by over 2000 villagers who were either born in Oberammergau, or who have been living there for over 20 years. The play depicts the suffering, death and resurrection of Our Lord Jesus Christ. Dinner will be served during the intermission. After the performance, we will head back to our hotel for an overnight stay.

DAY 13

This morning we will leave Oberammergau and head to Neuschwanstein to visit the fairy-tale castle. We continue to Munich for the last day of our tour. We will celebrate a private Holy Mass on this journey before we head to Munich’s city center for some free time on our own. We will then head to one of the beer hall restaurants typical to Germany.
