THIS PILGRIMAGE IHAS BEEN SPECIALY ORGANIZED BY FR NATHAN RUEB FOR THE STUDENTS OF ST. PIUS X HIGH SCHOOL IN KANSAS CITY MISOURI. REGISTRATION IS LIMITED TO THESE STUDENTS AND THEIR CHAPERONES.

Come join Fr. Nathan Rueb on this YOUTH trip of a lifetime! On this 9-day journey, Fr. Rueb and his fellow youth pilgrims will see and experience some of the most Holy sites in all Christendom. Following in the footsteps of Jesus and his earliest disciples, they will come to know themselves and their faith like never before!

Itinerary

DAY 1

Departure

Flights to Israel

Our Pilgrimage begins today as we depart on our flight to Israel. Meals and drinks
served aloft.

DAY 2

Bethlehem

Arrival to Tel Aviv

Upon arrival in Tel Aviv, we are welcomed by our Representative then transferred to our hotel for dinner and overnight.

DAY 3

Bethlehem

Ein Karem/ Bethlehem Nativity

This morning we visit the Church of the Nativity, situated above the traditional Grotto of Jesus birth. After touring the Manger, we visit the gentle lush countryside of Ein Karem, the village where John the Baptist was born. Here we will visit the Church of the Visitation and the Church of St. John.

DAY 4

Tiberias

Mt Tabor/Nazareth

Following breakfast, drive to Nazareth, home of the Holy Family. Visit Joseph’s Workshop and the Grotto of the Annunciation. We then head to the summit of Mt. Tabor for Mass at the site of the Transfiguration of Jesus and enjoy a sweeping view of the beautiful Jezreel Valley.

DAY 5

Tiberias

Tabgha, Capernaum, Mt Beatitudes:

Start the day at Tabgha, the site of the miracle of the
loaves and fishes. Celebrate Mass on the shore of the
Sea of Galilee where Jesus called His disciples and
appeared after His Resurrection. Visit Capernaum,
home of Our Lord during His ministry, recall His
many miracles and see the Synagogue where He
taught. Then drive up to the Mt. of the Beatitudes for
Mass and lunch near the site of the Sermon on the
Mount. We then visit the nearby village of Magdala
before we conclude this day with a scenic boat ride
on the Sea of Galilee.

DAY 6

Bethlehem

Jericho/Qumran/Dead Sea:

This morning we depart Tiberias and travel to Jericho, the oldest known city in the world. Continue along the shores of the Dead Sea to Qumran to see the caves where the Dead Sea Scrolls were discovered. After lunch we head to Masada and visit the fortress built by king Harold the great. Then on to Ein Gedi for a swim in the salty, mineral laden and unsinkable waters of the Dead Sea. We then stop at the Jordan River to renew our baptismal vows before continuing to our hotel in Bethlehem

DAY 7

Bethlehem

Mt Olives / Mt. Zion:

This morning drive to the
top of the Mt. of Olives where we will visit the Church
of Pater Noster where Jesus taught His disciples the
Lord’s Prayer. This includes a dramatic view of the Old
City from the Mount of Olives, revealing a city with
4000 years of history. We also visit the Chapel of the
Ascension commemorating the Ascension of Our Lord
into Heaven. We then proceed to Mt. Zion where we
will stand in the Upper Room, celebrating Mass very
near where Jesus ate the Last supper with His disciples.
Then we will visit the Dormition Abbey where we
remember Mary “falling asleep” before her Assumption.

DAY 8

Bethlehem

Old City- Holy Sepulcher/ St Anne:

Today we will walk through the narrow cobble stone streets of the Old City, beginning with a visit to the Church of St. Anne, the birthplace of Mary, and viewing the Pool of Bethseda, where Jesus healed the crippled. We then follow Jesus on the Via Dolorosa to the Church of the Holy Sepulchre to visit Calvary, where Christ was Crucified, the Stone of Anointing, and the empty Tomb of Our Savior which witnesses to our Easter Faith in the Resurrection.

DAY 9

Return Home

Flights Back to USA

Today we board our flight home, carrying with us memories and keepsakes that will last a lifetime.
